NACHU in Canada...

What a journey!

James, Norah, Josiah and Sarah (2009)

Then...

In 2009, Sarah and Josiah Bokma visited Uganda and met James and Norah Eparu.  They were so inspired by the love they had for children, they wanted to do something to help.

This is when the Seed Beed Project was introduced as a means of financial sustainability.  NACHU made beautiful jewelry and it was sold in Canada by volunteers.  The money made was sent directly back to Nurture a Child Uganda to help them run the ministry.  The Seed Bead Project still works this way and has been an amazing source of inspiration and income.

Cassandra Dorman came on board as a volunteer with NACHU in 2011.  She headed up the sales and promotion of the Seed Bead Project and formed a close friendship with both Sarah and Norah and James, playing an active role in the planning of NACHU's future projects and direction.

Now...

Cassandra and Wesley Dorman are completely humbled and honored to take over as the Canadian faces for Nurture a Child Uganda.  We have been working hard to promote the work of NACHU to local churches, women's groups, and at various events and conferences across the GTA.  Please pray for us as we seek God's direction for the future of Nurture a Child Uganda and how our family is involved.

As NACHU grows, their needs are changing.  We dream of being connected to a larger organization who can help us accomplish the goals we have set with James and Norah for NACHU.  We are very excited about what the future holds and invite you to partner with us as we are privileged to play a part in the building and growth of this incredible ministry.

We are an Ontario-based, Christian homeschooling family with a passion for justice and a love of children.  We care deeply for our dear friends James and Norah and value equality-based partnerships founded on love above all. Everything we do for NACHU is volunteer.  We feel called to give as much funding to James and Norah as possible.  We would love to talk to you about our journey and share how you can partner with NACHU as well.

Please, email us.  If you'd like to learn more about our family, please, visit Cassandra's personal blog: The Unplugged Family.
